PAUL KLEE

Paul Klee (Münchenbuchsee, 18 December 1879 - Muralto, 29 June 1940) was a Swiss-born German painter, whose style varied between surrealism, expressionism and abstraction.

Throughout his life, Paul Klee used colour in a variety of unique ways and maintained a relationship with it that progressed over time. For an artist who loved nature so much, it seems strange that in his early days Klee disdained colour, believing it to be nothing more than decoration.

In time Klee changed his mind and came to manipulate colour with such precision and passion that he ended up teaching colour theory and colour mixing at the Bauhaus School. This progression in itself is of great importance because it enabled him to write about colour with an eye unique among his contemporaries.

Tasks to do:
1 ) Look for information about Paul Klee to know this famous painter and his painting.

2) Make your own version of the painting entitled ''Flora in the sand'' with wax paints.
 

Remember  to draw squares and rectangles of different sizes, first in pencil and then colour them in with markers to create your own version.
